Man, is there a heap of amusing stuff to do in the Chugach       Mountains. Going for a hike along the Sheridan Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; get yourself into a kayak and hit Glacier River. This lake is one of the great places here in the Chugach Mountains. While you're here at Meeks Pond you can take a hike along the Lake Elsner Trail; on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Eyak Trail. You're almost certainly interested in lakes, Sellen Lake is one of those close by, and                  a tour to Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve is recommended. All the water falling down from the sky makes Meeks Pond a wet place; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful. This is a good region for folks who like lakes.
