Go to Meeks Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. If you haven’t been to Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve, you must schedule some time for it since you're here; paddling on Power Creek is so much fun. Meeks Pond gets a lot of water; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture.
Summertime highs at Meeks Pond commonly tend to be in the 60's. Once the sun is down it dips down

| | to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Meeks Pond. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more enjoyable things to do in the Chugach Mountains. While you're here at Meeks Pond you can take a hike along the Sheridan Mountain Trail, and Glacier River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by. Meeks Pond is one of the lakes here in the Chugach Mountains.
