Around Matanuska Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; all through the month of September you get the most rain around here while April is ordinarily the driest month. Matanuska Lake is one of the lakes here in the Talkeetna Mountains. That right there is a load of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Talkeetna Mountains has it all. If you need a spot to stay Agate Inn is a nice choice, and if       you came for an overnight stay Mountain View RV Park is a great place to camp. While you're here at Matanuska Lake, you could also have a look at lovely Johnson Lake, and there are some great whitewater spots on Little Susitna River. At Matanuska Lake all through the summer highs are in the 60's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's, and night lows at Matanuska Lake during the wintertime typically                  fall into the 0's. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Matanuska Lake. Kepler Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Archangel Creek, and Homestead RV Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
