Don't leave Lower Summit Lake without first going for a hike along the Carter Lake Trail, and a lake nearby is Summit Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's nice hiking along the Devils Pass Trail; paddling on Canyon Creek is so much fun. The Grant Lake Trail offers hiking at its best, and why not a little side visit to Block Creek. Dry warm beds await you at Trail       Lake Lodge, of course you could also check out Carter Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. That right there is a heap already, but it keeps on going; Lower Summit Lake has it all. Get soaked paddling on Sixmile River; Kenai Fjords National Park is a delightful national park. Coeur D'Alene Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and if you need a location to stay Hotel Edgewater and Conference Center is a good choice. At Lower Summit Lake through                  the summer highs are in the 60's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Lower Summit Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. Lower Summit Lake is a good place of common rainfall; most of the rain falls through October, and the driest month of the year is May. This lake is so wonderful.
