    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Lower Reed Lake. Paddling on Reeds Creek is so much fun; Agate Inn is a tremendous location to get some rest. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Little Susitna River. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Gold Miners Hotel is a splendid choice, and camping is available at Homestead RV Campground.
So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Talkeetna Mountains, not enough time. Take a side trip to Glacier Creek;
 
   a delightful site to camp here at Lower Reed Lake is Rivers Edge Recreation Park. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Lower Reed Lake reach the 60's; the night is a bit cooler of course, usually in the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Lower Reed Lake temperatures dip to the 0's. Around Lower Reed Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is frequently  
               September, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is April.
Lower Reed Lake is a beautiful lake in the Talkeetna Mountains.
