If you are traveling by, why not stop by Lower Fire Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Lake Lucille Inn is a brilliant place to get some rest, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Eagle River. If time allows, Katmai National Park & Preserve is a national park worth checking out, and during your trip here you'll meet some people from Anchorage for sure. There's some flowing water nearby, Carol Creek is a stream you can pop by while you're here; Goose Bay

The warmest time of the year at Lower Fire Lake comes with high temperatures in the 60's, and the night is a little cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 10's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Lower Fire Lake temperatures dip to the 0's. is a magnificent local campground. Hiking along the Bird Creek Trail is nice fun; Lower Fire Lake is not the only site close by, Psalm Lake is a close by lake. Lower Fire Lake is typically a rather waterless site; September is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is April. This lake is so wonderful.

 | 18 miles away Absolutely perfect!! We were blessed with good weather on our Alaska tour! The folks at Golden Nugget were so helpful. They knew the area and what was a must see for us. The grounds were well kept and the showers CLEAN!!!...Very nice, clean and quiet RV Park!! Lots of room to stroll around and relax.
Staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. We have been going there for the past 3 years - it is the largest and best park in Anchorage!! Enjoyed their evening BBQs and entertainment!!
