Summertime highs at Long Lake generally tend to be in the 60's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Through the wintertime highs are typically in the 20's while Long Lake overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. Not enough hours in       a day to enjoy the Talkeetna Mountains. This place is unbeatable, just look at all the enjoyable things to do near Long Lake. In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little Susitna River; a lake close by is Triangle Lake. Long Lake is a beautiful lake in the Talkeetna Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Archangel Creek has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby, and right next door to Long Lake you find                  a golf course called Fishhook Golf Course. If you came for an overnight stay Homestead RV Campground is a delightful site to camp, and a tremendous close by hotel is Gold Miners Hotel. Swamps are out of the ordinary places and Rabbit Slough close to Long Lake is no exception, and Agate Inn is a glorious place to get some rest.
