It's always fun to stop by Long Lake. A great nearby hotel is Gold Miners Hotel, and Rabbit Slough is an exciting swamp in the neighborhood of Long Lake. Summertime highs at Long Lake mostly tend to be in the 60's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 40's. During the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's while Long Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. Long Lake is a beautiful lake in the Talkeetna Mountains.

There's so much to do here at Long Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Homestead RV Campground is a great place for that, and Fishhook Golf Course is a golf course nearby. Not much precipitation falls here at Long Lake; the month with most of the rain is September, and April is when it's the driest. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Long Lake has it all. Baird Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at.

a long day outdoors Agate Inn is a great location to spend a night or two, and a great site for whitewater paddling is Little Susitna River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Talkeetna Mountains. You'll need more than a day to
discover everything Long Lake has to offer, you can camp at Mountain View RV Park, and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Archangel Creek.
