The winter comes with highs in the 20's while Long Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. But wait, there's more cool things to do in the Talkeetna Mountains. Lakes are such serene locations, why not check out Kepler Lake near Long Lake, and why not camp at Homestead RV Campground while you're here at Long Lake. Long Lake is a beautiful       lake in the Talkeetna Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Archangel Creek, and a magnificent place to camp here at Long Lake is Mountain View RV Park. There are other locations here than Long Lake, for example Triangle Lake; after a long day outdoors Gold Miners Hotel is a great site to spend a night or two. If you're a golfer then a delightful nearby course is Fishhook Golf Course, and swamps are out of the ordinary locations                  and Rabbit Slough close to Long Lake is no exception. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Talkeetna Mountains. It is very dried up here at Long Lake regularly; throughout September this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is April. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location.
