Sure, Matanuska Lake is around here. Summertime highs at Johnson Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 60's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Johnson Lake dip into the 0's. Johnson Lake is one of the lakes here in the Talkeetna Mountains. You just can't imagine       the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area in close proximity to Johnson Lake has to offer. Gold Miners Hotel is a tremendous spot to get some rest. So many amusing things to do here in the Talkeetna Mountains, too glorious to be true. Don't miss out on a pleasant swamp; Rabbit Slough is right here at Johnson Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Archangel Creek. This lake is so wonderful. There are other                  spots here than Johnson Lake, for example Clear Lake, and Homestead RV Campground is a glorious local campground. Why not camp at Mountain View RV Park since you're here at Johnson Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Little Susitna River offers some glorious whitewater.
