A visit to Jerome Lake is always a good idea. A common amount of rain falls here at Jerome Lake; through October this area sees the most rain, and May on the other hand is the driest. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great earth it would be. Soar down the rapids of Canyon Creek in a kayak, and camping is available at Henry's One Stop. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water close by, Johns Creek is a stream you can
stop by while you're here, and Kenai Fjords National Park is one of the destinations that are splendid to pop by nearby.
During the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 60's at Jerome Lake. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Jerome Lake descend into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. You

could also have a look at Crescent Lake while you're here at Jerome Lake; it's close by, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Devils Pass Trail.
Jerome Lake is not the only place nearby, Tern Lake is a nearby lake; camping at Coeur D'Alene Campground is always a good experience. Dry warm beds await you at Trail Lake Lodge; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Cooper Lake Trail. If you need a place to stay Hotel Edgewater and Conference Center is a splendid choice, and if you come at the right time of year, Sixmile River offers some good whitewater.
Jerome Lake is near Jerome Lake Dam which is a striking place definitely worth visiting, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Carter Lake Trail.

Took the hike from the Seward highway and it was a very well maintained trail and good parking lot with even bathrooms. The hike was very intense and switch backed multiple times. Tiny streams cross your path. Once up top it is beautiful. After some time walking threw the alpine, you come across a trail which to the left take you to the lake and to the right takes you to the bear box and camping area. It's a stocked lake so bring your rod....

Sixmile River
15 miles away
I did 6 mile this summer, what a rush!!!  Some things to know... it is a series of three canyons, the first two are considered more class IV but the third canyon is definitley class V.  There are two companies that operate on the river, Chugach Outdoor and Nova.  I went with Chugach but I hear that they are both good.  I reccomend (and give an AWA, shout out to) the guides ''Pizza'' and ''Charlie'' from Chugach outdoor, great people!  The canyons are very narrow.  Oh and the last thing.  You have to wear a dry suit and complete a swim test wearing it (in the river) before you can go.  The water is frigid and there is no room for error.  Make sure to get a suit with a good neck gasket.  Mine was loose and water rushed in the second I started swimming brrrr!  If you're looking for a great place to stay check out Alaska Wildland Adventures in Cooper Landing....

We began operation in the spring of 2002 as an RV Park, and look forward to adding amenities each year to better serve you.
