Through the warmest time of the year here at Island Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 60's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Island Lake are in the 0's. This lake is located in the wonderful Talkeetna Mountains. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be.       While you're here at Island Lake you will meet lots of folks from close by Anchorage, and if you came to camp Hidden Heaven RV Park is a great spot to do that. Around Island Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; September is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is April. All the outdoors entertaining things in the Talkeetna Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. A great nearby hotel is Best Western Lake Lucille Inn, and if                  you have the time, Katmai National Park & Preserve is a national park worth visiting. Island Lake is not the only site close by, Baptist Pond is a close by lake. There's so much to do here at Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Riverside Camper Park is a good site for that. This lake is so wonderful.
