Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Talkeetna Mountains. Alaskan Trails Rv and Camper Park is a fine campground nearby, and Cloudy Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. The warmest time of the year at Island Lake comes with high temperatures in the 60's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.       For the duration of the winter highs are in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Riverside Camper Park, and after a long day outdoors Microtel Inn and Suites Anchorage Area -Eagle River- is a magnificent place to spend a night or two. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Eagle River; if you're here, you could also                  visit beautiful Totuck Lake. Island Lake is a beautiful lake in the Talkeetna Mountains. You'll meet a lot of folks from Anchorage here; Katmai National Park & Preserve is a pleasant local destination. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Island Lake.
