Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Lake 'O' the Hills, and if you came to camp Centennial and Lions Campground is a brilliant spot to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody close by loves skiing at Hilltop; the views at Katmai National Park & Preserve will blow your mind. Not far from Lake Hideaway you get some brilliant       water scenery at Lake 'O' the Hills Dam, and if you need a place to stay Ramada Limited Anchorage is a pleasant choice. And if that's not sufficient, there's plenty more to do in the vicinity of Lake Hideaway. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Campbell Creek, and a delightful nearby hotel is Country Rose Manor B&B. Not much rainfall falls here at Lake Hideaway; during the month of September you get the most rain around here; the driest month is                  April. During your visit to Lake Hideaway you'll meet some people from Anchorage for sure, and you can run the rapids of Ship Creek. Lake Hideaway is right by the Bull Rock Trail; the skiing at Alpenglow At Arctic Valley is pleasant. Lakes? Sure, Cheney Lake is in close proximity; Lake Hideaway is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Golden Nugget Camper Park is a fine local campground. Throughout the summer at Lake Hideaway temperatures are regularly in the 60's with overnight lows in the 50's.
