The lake is great and Alaskans swim in it.  If you don't live here I wouldn't recommend it.  A few mosquitoes and whitesocks will bother you.  A LOT of bears so be bear-aware and camp responsibly.  No cell phone reception(I love that). Great boating lake. Other than that, I live near Hidden Lake and truly LOVE to take my RV and boat down for a weekend occasionally.  It's absolutely stunning. Not much rainfall falls here at Hidden Lake; during the month of September you get the most rain around here, and April is the month with the least moisture. At Hidden Lake through the summertime months highs are in the 60's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Hidden Lake are in the 0's. The       Seven Lakes Trail is a magnificent hiking trail in the vicinity of Hidden Lake, and if you need a spot to stay Lake View Bed and Breakfast is a good choice. Going for a hike on the Schooner Bend Trail is always a good adventure; Hidden Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Sunrise Inn and RV Park is a fine local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
