Shee Atika Totem Square Inn is a glorious location to get some rest, and Billy Basin is a great place to check out. A good deal of rainfall falls at Heart Lake; October is the wettest month with most rain, and June is when it's the driest. Arrowhead Peak can be seen from Heart Lake, and hiking along the Gavan Hill Trail is perfect fun. At Heart Lake during the summertime highs are       in the 60's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Heart Lake are in the 20's. A great close by hotel is Sitka Super 8 Motel, and a trip to Sitka National Historical Park is recommended. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Indian River Trail, and if you're here, you could have a look at Sawmill Creek.
