Lake Florence is right by the Mitchell Bay Trail, and the Fresh Water Thayer Trail offers hiking at its best. Lake Florence is a reasonably wet place commonly with much precipitation; the month with most of the rain is October; April is when it's the driest. There's glorious hiking along the Distin Lake Trail, and Juneau Airport Travelodge Hotel is a perfect location to get some rest.       This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the days of summer at Lake Florence temperatures are usually in the 60's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's.
