    It's always fun to stop by Fish Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Chickaloon River Trail; why not take a little trip to Linquist Creek if you're here. It is very waterless here at Fish Lake usually; September is the month that gets the most rain; March is when it's the driest. Lakes are fine; Thirtymile Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Fish Lake; hiking is a popular thing to do around Fish Lake; Chickaloon  
   Trail is a wonderful local trail.
For the duration of the summer at Fish Lake temperatures are commonly in the 60's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 20's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Fish Lake. Fish Lake is one of the lakes here in the Talkeetna Mountains. That right there is plenty already, but it continues; Fish Lake has it all.

Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Matanuska River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Drill Lake. My family built the cabin about 3 miles off the hwy. in '57 overlooking the river.  The creek at the bottom of the hill below the cabin is Gin Creek, named after my mom (Ginger).  We've hiked about 12 miles up the trail and all over the area.  Many fond memories....
