Don't leave First Lake without first going for a hike along the Carter Lake Trail, and unsurprisingly Box Canyon Creek is a pretty stream that is worth going to. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. If you need a location to stay Harborview Inn is a fine choice; since you're here you have to pop by Lowell Point. This lake is so wonderful. Do pay a visit to Kenai Fjords National Park since you're here at First Lake, and why not camp

| | at Stoney Creek RV Park since you're here at First Lake. Good hiking is available along the Grant Lake Trail, and since you're here, you could also stop by picturesque The Lagoon. You'll discover a stunning lake called Second Lake near First Lake; there are brilliant sites to discover along the Lost Lake Trail. For the period of the warm months at First Lake highs are usually in the 60's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. | |

The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's while First Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. An exciting thing to stop by in the vicinity of First Lake is Lowell Creek Dam.
If you came for an overnight stay Kenai Fjords RV Park is a great site to camp, and a wonderful close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express SEWARD HARBOR. First Lake is a good location of common rainfall; October is when you get the most rain here while May is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Carter Lake Trail
 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO Took the hike from the Seward highway and it was a very well maintained trail and good parking lot with even bathrooms. The hike was very intense and switch backed multiple times. Tiny streams cross your path. Once up top it is beautiful. After some time walking threw the alpine, you come across a trail which to the left take you to the lake and to the right takes you to the bear box and camping area. It's a stocked lake so bring your rod.... |
