First Lake is a lake worth visiting. Don't leave First Lake without first going for a hike along the Carter Lake Trail; if you get bored of First Lake you could also take a look at nearby Second Lake. If you need a place to stay Harborview Inn is a tremendous choice. There's so much to do here at First Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kenai Fjords RV Park is a good spot for that. All through the summer months at First Lake highs are typically in the 60's.

| | When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at First Lake drop into the 10's. A great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express SEWARD HARBOR, and you are close to Lowell Point if you're here. First Lake really is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. you can stay the night at Stoney Creek RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Grant Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Do check out Lowell Creek Dam since you're here at First Lake, and a lake
close by is The Lagoon. Go for a hike on the Lost Lake Trail; a quick journey to Box Canyon Creek is undeniably a great idea. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at First Lake; through October this area sees the most rain while May is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Carter Lake Trail
 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO Took the hike from the Seward highway and it was a very well maintained trail and good parking lot with even bathrooms. The hike was very intense and switch backed multiple times. Tiny streams cross your path. Once up top it is beautiful. After some time walking threw the alpine, you come across a trail which to the left take you to the lake and to the right takes you to the bear box and camping area. It's a stocked lake so bring your rod.... |
