If you get bored of Lake Elsner, you could also check out nearby Beaver Lake; there's whitewater on Power Creek for all you thrill seekers. Lake Elsner is located in the Chugach Mountains. At Lake Elsner through the summer months highs are in the 60's; the overnight is fairly cooler of course, regularly in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Elsner.       This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Cabin Lake; there are some delightful whitewater spots on Glacier River. So many exciting things to do in the Chugach Mountains, not enough time. If time allows, Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve is a national park worth stopping at, and the Eyak Trail offers hiking at its best. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. There's great hiking along the Sheridan Mountain Trail; don't leave Lake Elsner                  without first going for a hike along the Lake Elsner Trail.
