Echo Lake is one of the lakes here in the Talkeetna Mountains. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Talkeetna Mountains. Echo Lake is a location that is pretty waterless regularly; throughout the month of September you get the most rain around here while April is mostly the driest month. Be careful coming to Echo       Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Not far from Echo Lake, you'll stumble on Irene Lake which is a stunning lake; for you golfers we recommend nearby Fishhook Golf Course. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Echo Lake highs are regularly in the 60's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Echo Lake are                  in the 0's. Having a delightful time in the Talkeetna Mountains is easy. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Long Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Little Susitna River. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Agate Inn, and camping at Mountain View RV Park is always a good experience.
