If you like lakes and you're in this part of Alaska you can check out Drill Lake. Drill Lake is one of the lakes here in the Talkeetna Mountains. Drill Lake is a location that is quite dried out ordinarily; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. At Drill Lake through the summertime months highs are in the 60's while nighttime lows are usually in the 40's. Highs during the winter are generally
in the 10's while Drill Lake nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's.
This lake is so wonderful. Packsaddle Gulch is a splendid place to explore. That right there is a heap of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Talkeetna Mountains has it all. Some close by water includes Gravel Creek; paddling on Gravel Creek is so much fun. Don't leave Drill Lake without first going for a hike along the Chickaloon Knik Nelchina Trail; get dripping wet paddling on Hicks Creek.
