The beauty of Drill Lake is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Drill Lake; Chickaloon River Trail is a perfect local trail, and Chickaloon River is a nice whitewater spot close by. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Chickaloon Trail; you obtain a great panorama of Kings Mountain from here. All year is a great time in the Talkeetna Mountains if you love the outdoors.
