Hiking is a popular thing to do around Doe Lake; Mitchell Bay Trail is a good local trail; wonderful hiking is available along the Hasselborg-Guerin Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The high level of rainfall makes Doe Lake a relatively wet site; the month with most of the rain is October, and April on the other hand is the driest. Don't leave Doe Lake without first going for a hike along the       Lake Alexander Trail; a perfect close by hotel is Silverbow Inn. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 60's to Doe Lake. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's.
