Crater Lake is located in the Chugach Mountains. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Wortmann's Creek, and not far from Crater Lake you'll locate Scout Lake which is a wonderful lake. Through the summertime here at Crater Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows       in the 10's overnight here at Crater Lake. So many amusing things to do here at Crater Lake, too brilliant to be true. Don't leave Crater Lake without first going for a hike along the Sheridan Mountain Trail, and the top of Mount Eyak is easily seen from Crater Lake. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting things to do in the Chugach Mountains. There's whitewater on Power Creek for all you thrill seekers, and going for a hike on the Eyak Trail                  is always a good adventure. Valdez Harbor Inn is a nice place to get some rest, and there are other sites here than Crater Lake, for example Eyak Lake. Crater Lake is a wet site that gets a great deal of precipitation; throughout the month of September you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful.
