Chain Lakes is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Summer brings highs in the 60's to Chain Lakes. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are commonly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Chain Lakes temperatures sink to the 0's. | | year is a good time in the Talkeetna Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Kings River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by, and a great nearby hotel is Tannenhof Llama Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Granite Creek, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Chickaloon Trail. Take a hike on the Chickaloon River Trail; if you came to camp Pinnacle Mountain Recreation is a good place to do that. Chain Lakes is located in the Talkeetna Mountains. | |
