It is very dried up here at Canyon Lake regularly; July is the month that gets the most rain, and April is the month with the least moisture. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Alaska Range. A tremendous spot to camp here at Canyon Lake is Paxson Inn and Lodge, and Gulkana River has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. You could also go to Meiers Lake       since you're here at Canyon Lake; it's nearby, and a trip to Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve is worthwhile. Camping is available at Moose Horn RV Park, and if you've had enough of Canyon Lake, Paxson Lake is close by. Summertime highs at Canyon Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's, and the night is a tad cooler of course, ordinarily in the 40's.
