Go to Canoe Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is plentiful here in the Talkeetna Mountains. Baird Lake is a fine lake next to Canoe Lake; dry warm beds await you at Agate Inn. Canoe Lake is a beautiful lake in the Talkeetna Mountains. High temperatures at Canoe Lake during the summer are in the 60's with nighttime lows in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are commonly in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Canoe Lake.

| | This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Homestead RV Campground is a pleasant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little Susitna River; an afternoon playing golf at Fishhook Golf Course is always a diversion. Archangel Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; there are other sites here than Canoe Lake, for example Irene Lake.

Town and Country RV Park is a perfect campground nearby, and Gold Miners Hotel is a glorious location to get some rest. It is very arid here at Canoe Lake mostly; September is when you get the most rain here while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
