    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Alaska you can check out Butch Lake. Not much precipitation falls here at Butch Lake; July is the month that gets the most rain, and March meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are glorious; Thompson Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Butch Lake. There's so much to do here at Butch Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Smith's Green Acres Mobile is a great place for that.  
   If time allows, Wrangell - St Elias National Park & Preserve is a national park worth taking a look at; a splendid location for whitewater paddling is Jarvis Creek.
There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Butch Lake. You're most likely keen on lakes, Clearwater Lake is one of those close by; if you came to camp Rika's Roadhouse & Landing is a pleasant location to do that. Some of the water nearby flows, like Ober Creek, and if you don’t have a
 
               problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Delta River.
Throughout the long summer days, highs frequently are in the 60's at Butch Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 0's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Butch Lake tend to be in the-20's.

From the vantage point of the riverbank trails, the park offers a magnificent view of the Alyeska Pipeline suspension bridge where it crosses the Tanana River.

You will enter Big Delta State Historical Park from a different point than the 1920's motorists, who drove the original Valdez-to-Fairbanks trail. Turning off the Richardson Highway at Milepost 275, you will see a gravel access road and parking area to your left. As you begin your adventure at the park, take a moment to pick up a walking tour brochure.
