Not much rain falls here at Burkholder Lake; September is when you get the most rain here while March is regularly the driest month. All year is a delightful time in the Talkeetna Mountains if you go for the outdoors. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Burkholder Lake, you'll       stumble on Upper Rainbow Lake which is a pretty lake; get yourself into a kayak and hit Moose Creek. Gold Miners Hotel is a tremendous place to get some rest, and there are some great whitewater spots on Wolverine Creek. Burkholder Lake is a beautiful lake in the Talkeetna Mountains. Through the warmest time of the year here at Burkholder Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 60's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. The                  cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Burkholder Lake are in the 0's. Any time is a great time at Burkholder Lake if you like the outdoors. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Palmer Golf Course is close at hand; there are other sites here than Burkholder Lake, for example Butte Lake. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Talkeetna Mountains, too pleasant to be true. An out of the ordinary thing to visit near Burkholder Lake is Sherwood Estates Dam.
