What a nice lake Bonnie Lake is. Visit Riley Creek if you're here at Bonnie Lake, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Chickaloon Knik Nelchina Trail. Just can't get enough of the Talkeetna Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Chickaloon River, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Chickaloon River Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Talkeetna Mountains.

| | is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Coal Creek offers some splendid whitewater. Bonnie Lake is pretty arid mostly; September is the month that gets the most rain while March is regularly the driest month. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 60's to Bonnie Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. During the winter highs are regularly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Bonnie Lake.
