All the water falling down from the sky makes Black Lake a wet spot; October is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Battery Point Trail; you obtain a brilliant panorama of A B Mountain from here. You truly should love the Chugach Mountains. Summertime at Black Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 60's. Once the sun is down       it descends down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Black Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Reid Falls is an inspiring place to have a look at while here, and East Fork Skagway River is close to Black Lake and is always a diversion to explore.
