Not many places to stay nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do reserve a room before heading out because it is a very popular destination. There's lots of outdoors recreation available nearby such as whitewater paddling, boating, fishing, golfing, and swimming, so you may perhaps stay a bit. This segment of shore is a tremendous spot to stop by. As long as you     like beaches you will like New York. For all you camping folks there are campgrounds close by. A visit to nearby Stirling Basin is very relaxing, and if you want to hit the beach, Upper Beach is around here. Don't forget to take a wonderful little tour to Chase Creek, and a journey to Crescent Beach is always a perfect idea. Youngs Point is nearby and always tremendous to stop at; Shelter Island Country Club is a golf course nearby. Orient Beach State Park is a fine place to stop by on a beautiful day. For the duration of the days of summer at Sandy Beach highs are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Sandy Beach plunge into the 20's.
