There are campgrounds relatively in the vicinity of the slice of shore where you can pitch that tent. Michigan is a fine beach state. Some pursuits here are swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking, so one won't be short of exciting stuff to do. Not too many places to stay close at hand, you'll have to voyage a bit to get to one, but you'd better book before heading out since these hotels fill up fast during the long summer days.
