Western Beach, Cumberland County, Maine   Western Beach doesn’t have loads of services, but scores of folks like to come here to be near the water. If you are in Maine during the months of summer you must stop at the beach. The surroundings of this section of shoreline has everything. The azure surf beating the Maine seashore is a gorgeous vista. Few hotel rooms close by, you'll have to travel a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up snoozing in your vehicle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are more endeavors here other than simply     hanging out at the beach like whitewater paddling, fishing, golfing, swimming, and boating, so it's completely out of the question to get bored. Scarborough River flows through this area, and you have to stop by Ferry Rock when you're here. If you want to hit the beach, Back Shore is in the vicinity; if you're here and you like golf, you can go to Nonesuch River Golf Club. Western Cove is quite right next door to Western Beach; a golf course close by is Pleasant Hill Golf Course. A glorious place like Crescent Beach State Park right next door to Western Beach is too perfect to leave out; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Royal River. Yep, outdoors exciting things to do are really plentiful here at Western Beach. Near Western Beach you locate a golf course called Willowdale Golf Club; whitewater paddling is not for   everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Chandler Brook. You're sure to stumble upon some good people from Portland-South Portland here, and on a tremendous day it's a wonderful idea to spend the day at Pine Point Beach. Since you're here at Western Beach why not explore Black Rock. Western Beach sees pretty high levels of precipitation; November is when you get the most rain here, and August is the month with the least moisture. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Western Beach; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Western Beach descend into the 0's.
