Short Sands, York County, Maine   Short Sands is such an enjoyable place; when you get to enjoy this beach for a while you will feel like a whole new person. At this segment of coastline you will not ever have a bad time. There are loads of rooms here if you want to stay for a few days, but do book a room in advance of a trip as it is a very popular destination. One of the best things about Short Sands is its proximity to Long Beach; some attention-grabbing geology is available here, Dover Bluff is right here. Man, is there lots of entertaining things to do near Short Sands. If you're here at Short Sands, do take a trip to Cape Neddick, and if you come at the right time of year, Atlantic Ocean offers some great whitewater. Places like Odiorne   State Park are fine to go to. Short Sands gets a large amount of water; most of the rain falls during November, and the driest month is January. At Short Sands during the summertime highs are in the 80's; the night is a tad chillier of course, typically in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Short Sands dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
