| | We went to Scarborugh Beach on September 19, 2007 and were very disappointed. At the gate house a young fellow collected $4 from us. The restrooms were fenced in and locked. Beach folks ordinarily enjoy this section of Maine. The nearby lodgings are quite far away from the beach, but you'd better book ahead of going as these hotels fill up fast during the warmest time of the year. Scarborough |

Beach doesn’t have loads of facilities, but you always have a wonderful time when you're on it. You've got to get out of the house; Scarborough Beach in Cumberland County, Maine is a brilliant location for getting out. This piece of coastline is a gorgeous place to explore. There
| | are more endeavors here other than just hanging out at the beach such as boating, swimming, golfing, fishing, and whitewater paddling, so becoming bored is not something that is likely to take place. There are campgrounds pretty close to the section of shore where you can pitch that tent. While you're here at Scarborough Beach you have to stop at East Point; Crescent Beach State Park is both good and picturesque. You're sure to encounter some friendly folks from Portland-South Portland here; playing golf is lots of fun at Sable Oaks Golf Club. Don't forget | |

to stop by Prouts Neck if you're here at Scarborough Beach, and Shooting Rock is a good place to spend some time. A round of golf at nearby Pleasant Hill Golf Course is a great way to kill some time, and if you're looking for a beach close by we recommend Back Shore. Not enough

Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Willowdale Golf Club, and if you come at the right time of year, Royal River offers some great whitewater. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Chandler Brook.
