A small number of places to stay close by, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better book prior to departure as these hotels fill up quickly during the summer. A spree to Maine is not complete without some time spent on the beach. There's plenty of outdoors recreation available nearby such as hiking, whitewater paddling, swimming, boating, and fishing, so it's totally impossible |

There's great hiking along the Bowl Trail; if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Gilley Beach. There are nice places to explore along the Great Head Trail, and you are near Newport Cove while you're here. Ledge is a perfect location to spend some time at. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 70's at Sand Beach. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally
in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Sand Beach. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sand Beach a wet place; November is the wettest month with most rain, and August is the month with the least moisture.
