Sand Beach, Hancock County, Maine   The serenity of the water and the pretty Maine shoreline outclasses anything. Sand Beach doesn’t get a lot of visitors, but it is a cool place for the whole family. A small number of places to stay close by, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better book prior to departure as these hotels fill up quickly during the summer. A spree to Maine is not complete without some time spent on the beach. There's plenty of outdoors recreation available nearby such as hiking, whitewater paddling, swimming, boating, and fishing, so it's totally impossible     to get bored. Finally, beach time has come again; In case you happen to be in Hancock County of Maine, Sand Beach is a great local slice of shore. At this slice of coastline you will always have a good time. You must positively check out Cadillac Cliffs since you're here at Sand Beach, and Acadia National Park is a glorious national park. Sand Beach is next to Lamoine State Park which is a charming place; Oak Hill Cliff is an interesting thing to see while you're here. There's great hiking along the Bowl Trail; if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Gilley Beach. There are nice places to explore along the Great Head Trail, and you are near Newport Cove while you're here. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Sand Beach. Don't leave Sand Beach without first going for a hike along   the The Beehive Trail, and nothing beats kicking back at Hunters Beach. Looking for some flowing water? Try Otter Creek; Thunder Hole is pretty close. Otter Cliff is an attention-grabbing site to go to while at Sand Beach; The Beehive is clearly visible from Sand Beach. Old Whale Ledge is a perfect location to spend some time at. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 70's at Sand Beach. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Sand Beach. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sand Beach a wet place; November is the wettest month with most rain, and August is the month with the least moisture.
