Good hiking is available along the Bar Island Trail, and Raccoon Cove is not far at all. Acadia National Park since you're here. A good spot for whitewater paddling right next door to Marlboro Beach is Union River; Old Point is very near and is a fine place to visit. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Branch Lake
