Lucia Beach, Knox County, Maine   On 9/18/08, we went to Lucia Beach?.and found it to be privately developed with no access to the beach. Says Dan Meyer It's unhealthy to spend all your time indoors; you have to get out of the house every now and then, and Lucia Beach in Knox County, Maine is such a brilliant site. You can pitch that tent or park your RV at a close by campground. Maine has so much stuff to offer beach lovers. Lucia Beach doesn’t have scores of amenities, but you always have a nice time when you're on it. This section of coast is so pleasant. If you love the great outdoors,     you won’t be let down; there's boating, swimming, golfing, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so it's not possible to become bored. The nearby rooms are rather far from the beach, but do book a room ahead of going since it is a very popular destination. Birch Point is next to Lucia Beach and is a great site to stop by, and a spree to Camden Hills State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. Otter Point is not far from Lucia Beach at all, and Weskeag River is close to Lucia Beach and is always a joy to visit. There are plenty of folks from Rockland here at Lucia Beach, and float down the rapids of Oyster River in a kayak. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Ragged Mountain Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Ducktrap River offers some wonderful whitewater. If you love the outdoors, you'll love Lucia Beach.   Howie Rock is next to Lucia Beach and is a fine location, and hiking along the Mount Megunticook Trail is perfect fun. An afternoon playing golf at Rockland Golf Club is always a diversion; do take a hike on the Mount Battie Trail. The high level of rain makes Lucia Beach a relatively wet place; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest month of the year is July. Summertime highs at Lucia Beach commonly tend to be in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's while Lucia Beach nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
