Big Sand Beach is a spot where you won’t see sizeable crowds, but it is an enjoyable location for everybody. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Machias River; Dobsis Dam is stunning. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Machias River - West Branch, and there's some flowing water nearby, Chain Stream is a stream you can have a look at during your stay. Hiking along the Eagle Lake Trail is delightful fun; you can see Buck Knoll from Big Sand Beach. Going for a hike along the Lead Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; Belmont Point is not far at all. Man, is there loads of cool things to do in close proximity to Big Sand Beach. Through the warm months at Big Sand Beach temperatures       are ordinarily in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 20's, and night lows at Big Sand Beach through the wintertime regularly dip into the 0's.
