My family and I used to go to Triton Beach every Sunday during the summers of the '50's, and I recall there being a large hall with lots of slot machines and great piped in music. We always had a picnic for dinner after a day at Triton. Says Charles Polinger

This is a great beach with beautiful views. My family and I go there for some weekends and hike and canoe........ Says Caitlin

Triton Beach and Mayo Beach are both ordinarily closed to the public.
You have to get a permit from Anne Arundel County Department of Parks and Recreation to get it and access is limited. Mayo beach is open to the public only Sunday afternoons in summertime Says jovet

We also use to go to Triton quite a few times each summer thru the early 50's and 60's.   We have a lot of photos taken there when we were kids.   I absolutely loved it.   The water was clean, there was a cool playground with a trapeze and the main pavilion had cool games, slots & food. As a little kid, I was fascinated by the ''maze'' like locker room.   It had rows and rows of booths to change in.  I couldn't make up my mind.   I remember pulling into the lot and there was a big loud speaker on the building.  I seem to remember it playing ''Shh-boom'' a lot. I'm uploading 2 things I still have which I probably paid 5 cents for.   Again, as a kid, I thought these were hysterical.   thanks for the memories - Doris York
