Mayo Beach, Anne Arundel County, Maryland Custom Search   In 1964-65 my band the Chauntels played the Mayo Beach dances during the summer. What great memories. I would like to locate any photo's of The Chauntels band that were taken at that time. I have one taken with me and one of our fans. As a teenager growing up in Silver Spring, MD, we spent many weekends at Mayo Beach. We had close friends who had a weekend home on the bay at Mayo Beach and we spent countless hours on their     small boat dock dangling chicken necks tied onto lines and lowered into the water to capture the blue crabs. Once the crabs started feeding on the chicken necks, we would slowly pull the lines up and take a hand held net and capture them. The reward from this activity was a pot full of delicious, steamed blue crabs for dinner. It sounds like those times are gone! In the summer, you can enter on Sunday afternoon. I found the public park NOT open that Sunday afternoon. Says jovet mayo beach was the smallest but nice. we used to go there sunday evenings in the late 60's the dance hall was screened and there was a live band.usually just local people   would go there nice family beach if you don't like crowds thanks for the site, i wish i had pics i did but lost in fire. Mayo Beach is not an enormously crowded slice of coastline; it is an extraordinarily great beach. If you love the great outdoors, you won’t be disenchanted; there's whitewater paddling, fishing, golfing, swimming, and boating, so it's totally impossible to get bored. Perfect glittering water and a striking coast is a lovely sight. Ok, time to get out and breathe some fresh air; Mayo Beach in Anne Arundel County, Maryland is precisely the place. The close by hotels are fairly far from the beach, but you'd better book prior to departure because these hotels fill up swiftly through the summer. If you're here at Mayo Beach, do take a trip to Saunders Point; swing by South River it's a tremendous spot to take a look at. Anchor Yacht Basin is worth visiting since you're here, and enjoy a round of golf at Glenn Dale Golf Club. Time spent at Carrs Beach near Mayo Beach is always pleasant; Annapolis Country Club is a magnificent golf course close by. Spend the day on the beach at Triton Beach if you're here at Mayo Beach, and don't forget to stop at Ramsay Lake since you're here. So much fun stuff to do here at Mayo Beach, too pleasant to be true. Sandy Point State Park is worth stopping at if you're at Mayo Beach. Mayo Beach gets a common amount of annual precipitation; throughout May this area sees the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. Throughout the summer here at Mayo Beach, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 40's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Mayo Beach sink into the 20's.
