And needless to say, there are campgrounds in the vicinity. There are a lot of great places to stay to select from, and if you make reservations before heading out you're all set. Coming to this segment of coast is always a perfect idea. Hawaii is a brilliant location for beach folks. As if Palauea Beach wasn't enough you can also go boating, hiking, fishing, golfing, |

and swimming, so it's out of the question to become bored. If you want to hit the beach, Polo Beach is in the vicinity, and the Lower Trail offers hiking at its best. Haleakala National Park is a wonderful national park, and when you're here it's always fun to stop at Makena State
| | Park. Hiking along the Halemauu Trail is great fun; Palauea Beach is not far at all from Kahului-Wailuku. Palauea Beach is right by the Sliding Sands Trail, and do schedule some time to stop at Hl if you have a chance. This place, Palauea Beach, it definitely has so much outdoors cool stuff. On a perfect day it's a good idea to spend the day at Poolenalena Beach, and Poolenalena is very near and is a great place to take a look at. of rain; through January this area sees the most rain, and September is when it's the driest. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Palauea Beach get into the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 80's with winter lows in the 60's overnight here at Palauea Beach.
