Hiking is a popular thing to do around Kamakahonu Beach; Huehue Hualalai Trail is a delightful local trail, and do schedule some time to go to Kukailimoku Point if you have a chance. Interesting geology is available here; Pohakuloa Rock is near Kamakahonu Beach, and the Kiholo-Puako Trail offers hiking at its best. Playing golf is lots of fun at Kona Country Club; while here here do go to close by Alula Beach. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do in the neighborhood of Kamakahonu Beach. | |

Kamakahonu Beach is close to Old Kona Airport State Park which is a lovely place. Through the warm months at Kamakahonu Beach highs are ordinarily in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are usually in the 70's, and overnight
lows in the 50's for Kamakahonu Beach. Kamakahonu Beach is a good location of common rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly January, that's the one that rains the most; July is when it's the driest.
