There are more pastimes here other than just hanging out at the beach such as hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, whitewater paddling, and golfing, so running out of pastimes will not occur. | | is a great thing to do, and some nearby water includes Great Creek. The Bar is quite right next door to Walnut Public Beach; you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Naugatuck Trail. While you're here at Walnut Public Beach you will meet lots of people from nearby New Haven-Milford, and on a delightful day it's a tremendous idea to spend the day at Fort Trumbull Beach. Walnut Public Beach. Playing golf is lots of fun at Grassy Hill Country Club, and hiking along the Regicides Trail is wonderful fun. If you're a golfer then a great nearby course is Orange Hills Country Club, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Quinnipiac Trail.
Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Orchards Golf Course, and there's always Beaver Brook Dam to have a look at close to Walnut Public Beach. At Walnut Public Beach all through the summer months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures
drop down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Walnut Public Beach plunge into the 20's. Walnut Public Beach gets a lot of water; the wettest month of the year is mostly November, that's the one that rains the most, and August meanwhile is the driest month.
