Wreck Beach, Monterey County, California   Wreck Beach doesn’t get lots of visitors, but being here is always amusing. There's so much cool stuff to do close to Wreck Beach including hiking, fishing, whitewater paddling, swimming, and boating, so you may perhaps stay for a while. The way the water converges with such a stunning segment of coast is quite a sight. For all you camping people there are campgrounds in the neighborhood. Stopping by the beach here in California is a must. Coming to this piece of coast is always a fine idea. There aren’t any hotel rooms in close proximity but if you're     ready to voyage a small distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance of a trip you're all set. While you're here at Wreck Beach you can take a hike along the Oak Grove Trail; Sycamore Canyon is another delightful location to take a look at close by. Nothing beats kicking back at Pfeiffer Beach, and since you're here, do take a trip to Pfeiffer Point. If you come at the right time of year, Big Sur River offers some pleasant whitewater, and why not a little side spree to Pfeffer-Redwood Creek. At Wreck Beach you always meet someone from Salinas, and don't leave without going to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Wreck Beach. Going for a hike along the Buzzards Roost Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region,   and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Pfeiffer Falls. On a fine day at Wreck Beach you can take a hike along the Manuel Peak Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Little Sur River. The warmest time of the year at Wreck Beach arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Wreck Beach are in the 40's. Not much precipitation falls here at Wreck Beach; January is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July.
