Moondunes Beach is a tremendous local slice of coastline. This segment of shoreline is always great. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Atagam Beach, and a tour to Agate Bay is always a wonderful idea. If you're looking for a beach next to Moondunes Beach, we recommend Secline Beach;

Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Truckee River, and Flick Point is very near and is a delightful site to visit. Good hiking is available along the Mount Rose Trail; there are some good whitewater spots on Truckee River. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up.
