Black Sand Beach is not an unbelievably packed section of shoreline, and what a glorious place for going     to the beach it is. Alaska is a great beach state. Tongass/Ketchikan National Forest is a great local forest, and you can distinguish Judy Hill from Black Sand Beach. Black Sand Beach is a wet spot that gets a good deal of precipitation; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. During the warm days of summer here at Black Sand Beach, high temperatures usually get into the 60's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
